2017 Outlook

Pending FA of note:
TE - Coby Fleener
C - J.C. Tretter
DE/LB - Benson Mayowa
OLB - Melvin Ingram
LB/DE - Robert Mathis
CB/FS - Sterling Moore
CB - Nolan Carroll
SS/FS - Nate Allen

It's very, very likely that J.C. Tretter never sees the light of free agency. Melvin Ingram is a tougher choice here. Mathis is retiring. We'd like to have Mayowa and Fleener back, but that will depend on price.

QB1: Sam Bradford
QB 2: Cardale Jones/Matt Moore

Bradford is, well, Bradford. He had a typical hot and cold season yet again in real life. He's not going to single handedly win a team a DFFL bowl, so it would be nice to upgrade, but we may not have the capital to do so.

RB1: Wendell Smallwood
RB2: Darius Jackson

Smallwood impressed when he was healthy in Philly last year, and Jackson ended the season with the Browns. Both look to be involved next year, but we could certainly look to upgrade via the draft.

WR1: Jarvis Landry
WR2: Rishard Matthews
WR3: Ted Ginn, Jr.
WR4: Robby Anderson
TE1: Jack Doyle
TE2: Lee Smith

Ginn could be available via trade, as could Robby Anderson. Smith was highly sought after last off-season, but injured in real life nearly all of this year. Doyle's emergence could make one of them a trade candidate as well. All in all, this is a deep, though not overly excellent group.

LT: Duane Brown
LG: Graham Glasgow
C: J.C. Tretter
RG: Joe Haeg
RT: Bryan Bulaga
FB: Patrick DiMarco

I don't care what the Madden rating system says, this would be a better O-Line than the ratings currently give me. We'll see how the new ratings come out this summer. We finally have some good depth here, as Caleb Benenoch caught a few starts in real-life and Ryan Jensen, Dennis Kelly, Gino Gradkowski, and Garry Gilliam (who started for Seattle) are servicable subs. It's possible this is the deepest portion of the team moving into 2017.

DT: Sheldon Rankins
RE: Ziggy Ansah
LE: Benson Mayowa (Pending FA)
ROLB: Melvin Ingram (Pending FA)
MLB: Mychal Kendricks
MLB: Will Compton
LOLB: Pernell McPhee

Darron Lee will hopefully take a big step forward and get into the mix here. Ansah and McPhee were elite players as recently as the end of the 2015 season, so I have hope they can return to form. Ingram is a tough decision with age and money, but even if he's brought back we are clearly in need of another inside linebacker to start alongside Kendricks, who needs a change of scenery and scheme in real-life. This was an area I felt really comfortable with coming into 2016. Now it's much more of a question mark.

CB1: Brent Grimes
CB2: William Gay
CB3: Darius Butler
SS: Maurice Alexander
FS: Duron Harmon

I believe this will be an above-average, though not spectacular, secondary. Butler should qualify at CB, SS, and FS next year as he transitions to safety. Hopefully Xavien Howard can take a step forward rating wise and provide solid depth to this group.

Comments and additional functionality coming soon.
