Re: Rule discussion for next year if not sooner

If you sign a player for example a 30 mil. SB, then the salary should be around 25-30% of that (anywhere from 7.5 mil to 9.0 mil. per year) more realistic that way. Maybe once a SB hits a threshold, then the percentage kicks in....just a thought I was one of the guys who suggested in the offseason ...

Re: Rule discussion for next year if not sooner

My complaint is he acquired the player by paying $61,999,999 but when he goes to sign him long term one year later it is based on $2 M. For the record Royce and I had a very good conversation via DM and this isn't a Larry vs Royce thing. The strength of Fan GM and what makes it the best league I ha...

Re: Rule discussion for next year if not sooner

I don't believe in making rules retroactively b/c someone found a loophole, but going forward one easy fix is that you can't sign any FA on a one year deal to an LTC the next year. But as someone mentioned, LTCs are based on grades, and averaged out. So, it might be a moot point once you pull the to...

Re: 2024 RULES: Trade Flagging/Objections

I think this should ONLY be an option if a new (inexperienced) GM takes over, and makes a lopsided deal early on. If we're talking about a couple of long time GMs in these leagues, let them make the deals they choose to make. Same goes for the "newbees," with the caveat that extreme cases ...

Re: 2024 RULES: Max Picks

I would argue that a team hoarding a bunch of 1st rounders in any given year is HIGHLY unlikely to max out on the overall potential of those picks. In other words, every single year, if you did a redraft, often times first rounders don't perform, while other rounds do. Now, of course, the general co...

Re: 2024 RULES: Injuries

If the player plays the game, he shouldn't be downgraded. That in itself, is subjective. We don't know how hurt these players are. Fact is later in the year, most of the players are banged up. Some are severely limited, yet when the game starts, often times the best players still tend to play the be...

Re: 2024 Rules: GM of the Year

Not into giving away comp picks for fake rewards that COULD just be a popularity contest, or perhaps a contest that only receives 25% of the leagues' entire votes (b/c that's all who voted). And before anyone says it, yes I know its fake rewards for fake leagues, but this is more subjective than ass...

Re: 2024 RULES: Free Agency Bids (High SB/Low Salary)

Not trying to make it more complicated here, but just spitballing. Perhaps you insure the signing bonus doesn't exceed 200% of the annual base salary. So, the base is 5M, but the SB PER YEAR is 10M. If it doesn't meet minimum requirements, you have to increase both to make the bid valid. Also, we're...

Re: 2024 RULES: Free Agency (regular season immediate pickup)

Perhaps if a team cuts a guy midseason, they can't re-sign them to their active roster until a week (or two) passes? Other teams could sign that player within that time period, but not the time cutting that player.

Re: 2024 RULES: Anti-Tanking

I think teams should be fit to rebuild how they want, but one thing you might be able to implement is a VERY low threshold to meet within a 3 year window, in terms of wins. If a team doesn't meet or exceed that threshold, perhaps they lose a pick? I do think having multiple 0 win teams in these leag...
