Re: 2019 rules suggestion

I would be good with this as well and definitely makes sense. I'm not sure how teams do this IRL. I know they pay it up front, but not sure if they have option to count it all in one season. I like the idea though.

Re: 2019 RULES: Sign and Trade

The more I look at it, it's the SB to salary ratio that's messed up. You can sign a player to $1m a yr and then $50m in SB. That a valuable as hell as a trade chip. That needs to be limited to annual SB can't exceed 2x salary.

Re: 2019 RULES: Sign and Trade

One year no trade just seems like a crazy correction to a not so serious problem. Players rating fluctuate during the year. If you sign someone to a contract as an 86 and by week 3, that player is a 91 on a good contract; you should be able to cash in on that value. Before the end of the year, that...

Re: 2019 RULES: Sign and Trade

What ruins the fun is $60m/yr contracts IMO. I would support just limiting 1-3 yr contracts similar to LTC. Then again I'm good either way. I think the better fix would be that SB can only exceed annual salary by a certain %. However, that would change the finance of the game, which seems to be a no...

Re: 2019 RULES: Sign and Trade

A lot of options to choose from, which helps out the keep the same category (as those who want it changed will have their votes split). Perhaps we should have done a simple poll of should it change or not (2 choices) and then if yes wins, we could do new poll and discussions on what the change is. I...

Re: 2019 RULES: Sign and Trade

Another option would be that 50%(or some number) of the SB travels to the new owner. I don't how hard that would be system wise, but I think it would solve a lot of these issues.

Re: Free Agency and Draft Dates

I don't understand how the votes are so lopsided when 90% of the people responding seem to like a little time in between. I think the bigger problem was either being early May or June. I lean toward the waiting to June side, although I also sympathize with those thinking June is too late. It does gi...

Re: Free Agency and Draft Dates

Not sure why we need to rush through both but I'm not surprised that's the popular vote either. I'm good with any of the dates, but prefer not to rush. I say pick the top 2 and do votes again and then just go with the most popular. That's probably the most fair way, as pleasing everyone is going to ...

Re: Off-Season Rules Discussion

I think by looking at the vote it's safe to say it's not passing this year. I would argue that it doesn't hurt to bring these topics to the table. All changes are at least worth considering and I wouldn't say a waste of time. However I think we should do rule discussions in the dog days of summer Ju...

Re: Off-Season Rules Discussion

While I didn't necessarily say I oppose a change, I probably lean toward voting no change. I was mainly pointing out that Keenum in AFFL was plenty expensive enough. I would say that I think 49ers way overpaid Jimmy G IRL. There is very small sample to say he will be a high level QB in the NFL. I lo...
