Re: Off-Season Rules Discussion - Open Mike
I'm still for top 10, or I'd be good with doing away with LTC all together and letting market set all prices (perhaps build in a small hometown discount that gives owning team a small advantage). I like the idea of the LTC for one or two players per year. I think it should be a slight discount from...

Re: 2017 RULES: Carry Over
My worry with increasing the carry over is that it will give teams even more reason to tank their seasons. Instead of trying to rebuild they can blow out their teams for draft picks and get rewarded with another ten million of cap space the next season. While The Browns may have spent way under the...

Re: 2017 RULES: Carry Over
Does the NFL allow surplus carryover? I don't think they do, which means we shouldn't be doing it either.

Re: Off-Season Rules Discussion - Open Mike
This issue has been discussed ad nausea over the last several years. I vote we table it this year so we can focus on other things. If you want to see discussions about LTCs, dig up the previous discussions. Amen. The only reason you would give LTC to a player is because he might get paid more in FA...

Re: Free Agency Reminders
I have to disagree. I think a hometown discount is in the realm of realism. I think a reasonable hometown discount is okay, but when you look at the top 50 FAs current bids there is somewhere around 60-70% with leading offers that the player would never even consider in real life. If we're trying t...

Re: Free Agency Reminders
I could get on board with that as well. Only potential problem is it could really string out FA.Onyxgem wrote: Or just make it unlimited offers for all teams...should fix any low deals real fast

Re: Free Agency Reminders
Teams get UNLIMITED bidding toward their own UFAs on the market I think next year we need to consider getting rid of this rule. UFAs are going to sign for WELL below market value because there aren't enough free bids to catch all the ridiculously low initial team offers. I'd suggest either limiting...
