That's true... there's a huge pay difference in pay going #1 vs. going #5... that can all be determined by if a team needs a QB or not.

Locker has never really had a good year and is still considered pretty raw. Plus he hasn't won anything either in his college career. I think he made the smart choice in coming back. He likely won't make as much money in his first contract, but the contract will also be shorter and by going back he is increasing the chances he will see a second big payday.

In the AFFL I'm gonna have one of the Top 5 picks more than likely. I don't really see any QB i'd take if they fell besides MAYBE Claussen. I'll have another in the 15-20 range where if one of the guys (Claussen, Bradford, etc.) fell i'd take a chance on them. I was looking into taking Locker, but I guess not this year!

I may have the #1 and #2 picks in the AFFL. Maybe I'll take to 50 million dollar QB's to make sure I get better odds.

High draft picks aren't nearly as exciting to have IMO. There are very few rookies who play well enough in their first few years to warrant $10m a year. I had two high picks a few years ago, and looking back I wish I would have traded down. That is why I dealt most of my 1st rd picks last year for proven superstars. Hopefully NFL fixes this problem and institutes a rookie salary band in the next contract written up. Unfortunately I have a feeling it's going to take a strike to get it done, perhpas putting a part (if not all) of the 2011-2012 season at risk.
