My first two years here I had over 40 mil in cap space. I couldn't land all the top free agents I wanted (I wasn't going to mess up my cap situation right off the bat), so yeah - if I really wanted a UDFA, I got him. Even if it cost me a mil or more. And I hit on a few - got Thomas Rawls for 600k signing bonus last year (in cas any of you hadn't heard, lol). This year I have about 13 mil in cap space and I only signed 2 UDFAs. This is America. Let's capitalism rule. Plus, unlike in the NFL - we can't have ties here.

Hey Bernie Sanders,

Calm down. I think he was saying there was no need to regulate the UDFA's.

I don't really care what the league does on this matter. I'm broke by the end of free agency.

Will do Donald.

America and capitalism are irrelevant when discussing whether FanGM should regulate UDFA's or not. I'm simply pointing out the inaccuracy of this statement and it's irony, that the NFL (and the NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, etc.) actually operates using many socialist principles.

I think you heard "capitalist" and you were about to go Kim Jong IL on the poor bastard by breaking out the nukes.

The NFL may use some "socialistic" principles in regulating how GM's build their teams but free market principles dominate when it comes to signing players.

I don't really see what the big hoopla is. The chances of a UDFA making an impact are rare. Most end up on the practice squad before their short exit from the NFL. Why not let the FREE market determine their value? I mean, this is America, right?

The two solutions I offered are the only two that I think would be worth implementing. Either do what the NFL does, make UDFA the point at which we switch to blind bidding, or leave as is.

NFL free agency is not a truly free market. The salary cap keeps wages artificially low. If you want a truly free market look at European football. I happen prefer the American sports model.

Status quo seems to be working - I don't see that a change would be sufficiently significant to warrant the time required to implement it.

I don't know why you keep taking this to politics, or why I keep going there with you, but just for shits and giggles, because you left out some real quotes from the Donald.

“An ‘extremely credible source’ has called my office and told me that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a fraud"

“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”

“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bring crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.”

“All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.”

“One of they key problems today is that politics is such a disgrace. Good people don’t go into government.”

“I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

“All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.”

“My fingers are long and beautiful, as, it has been well documented, are various other parts of my body.”

"My Twitter has become so powerful that I can actually make my enemies tell the truth.”

“I was down there, and I watched our police and our firemen, down on 7-Eleven, down at the World Trade Center, right after it came down”

You can't help it anymore than I can.

However, we've already hijacked this thread.

I suggest a truce. I'd rather talk football than talk about the failed promises of politicians in an election year.

I can go to Drudge or Huffpo if I want to do that.
