2016 Off-Season Update

Troy, any chance we can get an alert on the main league pages for someone signing a guy off your PS, much like we get trade alerts on those pages?

Not everyone checks their actual roster pages on a daily basis, or even weekly for that matter if no changes need to be made.

The same way we can backload a contract for current free agents, can we implement a way to front load a free agents contract as well?

Similar to what Cleveland did with essentially Trading cap space for a draft pick and Osweiler I think we should look into being able to trade the guaranteed portion of our contracts just like they can in the NFL.

We're close to finishing up our playoffs (hoping to run conference championships on Sunday night and Super Bowls mid next week), so then we'll jump into the off-season. For those who are new, here's what happens.

- We'll close all league activity once the Super Bowls are played. So if you want to cut a player on this year's salary cap (and have cap space to do so) you'll only have a week left to do that.
- After the super bowls, we do a team check-in to see who's back and what teams we need to try to fill.
- We have an off-season rules discussion. You can start to reply here for things you'd like to bring up. I'll move a couple of recent suggestions to this thread (looks like they appear above).
- Depending upon how complex any system changes are, we'll begin to move into free agency season.
- Once we switch to a new league year (early April probably) teams will be able to LTC pending free agents and set franchise/transition tags.
- At least a couple weeks before our draft we'll kick off our free agency. That's when the real fun starts in this league!
- We'll hold our college draft after the NFL draft.

So if you want to get started bringing up some topics for off-season consideration before a new league year, feel free to post in this forum. Thanks!

Can we keep Depth Charts open after the trade deadline? Feel like locking depths hurt league activity.

Hi Troy,

Is there a deadline to use our LTCs for 2016?

Thanks!

Everything freezes once the super bowl games are played. No more transactions of any kind after that point, as we freeze activity and make preparations for the new league year setup under 2017 cap come April.

It was discouraging to see the depth locked but definitely didn't stop me from making changes.

As a first year guy, I say the system is flawless. Thanks to all of the people involved

LTC values should come down for non QB positions, imo
