Take Larry Fitzgerald for example, and lets assume he's in the first wave of FA. This is pretty much his last year in the NFL, why have to sign him for 3 or 4 years? That's not realistic, same with Carson Palmer who's pretty much in the same boat, his last year in the NFL
Signing soon is helpful for timing your own bids. I use it to do a quick check to see if any players I may be interested in will be signed before I get a bid back. That way I know whether I need to use my free bid on that player immediately or if I can afford to wait for another bid to free up.paulco wrote:Couple of suggestions I have:
1) Is there a way to slightly adjust the bid score to account for a player's age? A 26-year-old FA will view offers differently than a 33-year-old FA. I know baseball leagues have their FA calculator to account for age.
2) What is the purpose to the Signing Soon tab? I feel like it is only used for people who want to raise the price on FAs rather than actually attempt to sign one. If a GM wants a certain player, the player can easily be found by searching alphabetically or by position. Just seems like the Signing Soon only screws over GMs.
I don't even use the signing soon tab but it makes me laugh when people get mad about last second bids. Realize that may have been the time that their bids come up. I usually have my 5 bids out at a time and can only counter when they come back available. How is that a flaw in the system? FA is meant for players to go to the highest bidders. You should be happy if you feel teams are overbidding players. Eventually it will come back to haunt them. I think if there is anything that may be causing huge salaries it seems to be that with the 2 LTCs and 1 Franchise player for ever team has decreased the number of quality FAs.Ben C. wrote:Signing soon is helpful for timing your own bids. I don't understand why people are so against the signing soon tab. A player is on the market for 24 hours after a bid. It shouldn't matter when in those 24 hours an additional bid comes in. It's all within the window.
