2012 Off-Season Dates

Post by Goodell »

We can never get a time that's perfect for all players in 32-team leagues across multiple leagues, but if you have any big scheduling events across multiple days it would be good to have some idea of that. No guarantees that we won't schedule the start of free agency or the draft during a time when you're away, but at least if you speak up now that would go into some consideration. The way we've setup all tools, hopefully it minimizes effect and gives people some flexibility (can create draft queue ahead of time, know pick window to plan toward, have 24 hours for bid windows, get the highest available player based upon NFL pick if you miss your time and no queue, etc.)

April 27th - May 3rd I'll be traveling and setting up the camp. We're usually done by then, but just in case we get delayed.

I am going to be in the mountains with my daughter's spring break some next week. Out 3/26-27 and part of 3/28. Going to try to have laptop, though, for some work when the sun's not shining.

I will be at a conference in April (16-18). It's in Las Vegas, so you'd think wouldn't be spending too much time working after hours, but not much for losing my money and have seen most of the glitz on previous visits, so will at least be checking in daily and that could also be a heavy time with free agency still but don't think my trip should interfere with that if so.

FA should be. I think the draft is late this year, though, April 26–28, 2012. Just to put that day in there. We usually start after the real draft but typically that following week.

No official start dates for any of our off-season schedule yet, though. Just trying to gather information to see if certain dates are bad for several people when we think about scheduling. This thread will also give us an idea of a guy being away for part of an event but don't rush to replace him as a GM for it, so we'll know what's going on with teams if they happen to be not around at that exact time.

Another update on calendar dates from me. I have a 5 day weekend coming up with my daughter on spring break next week. Will be doing some fun stuff too, but should have some time and less work stress to polish off transition to the new year for next week. Also will upload draft pool, start integrating some of the planned free agency changes, etc. Still will have things to do otherwise overall, but things will start to look more and more like we're ready for 2012 soon.
