Yeah, me too I think. I don't see what's the hurry anyway, it's only gonna be 4 months of nothingness after our draft is over.

I agree, I am in a unique place, being the only resident of china in the league and the draft times take place at night for me, if they were spread out longer, we could do more research after the real draft is finished and make more trades, both things to increase fun. I say elongate the draft

The draft is perfectly fine the way it is. We're not real GMs here. This isn't our job, and not everyone has a full week to dedicate to this.

We shouldn't be handicapped b/c we actually have jobs that don't allow us to constantly check online for a week straight. You might be able to get away with it one or two days, but not 7.

I'm not a fan of auto picking at all, but sometimes I've had to do it b/c I wasn't around. Stretching it out makes that worse, not better, and I'd miss more picks live.

I agree with sportz. With everything being set and time allocated timing is not an issue at all. at least it shouldn't be.
And the draft queue tool is awesome. I watched college games, combine, reviewed mags, online sites, kept updated from analysts so once the players were picked in really life my homework was done, last thing needed was more time for research. Sure everybodys time, approach and preference is different but of all the tools we use and as complicated as the draft can be I feel our draft and everything that goes with is very effective. My opinion is we do not need to make it longer. After a week of draft I honestly look forward to it being over so I can get back to the real world.

What about setting it up in a series of nights over the course of a month. like 5-10 nights, 4 hours a piece or something. that way it wouldn't interfere with work

Absolutely longer draft. I work nights and my picks are during the day so being awake and alert to make last minute trades and such just won't happen. I read the comments about homework being done ahead of time and that would be great but married 3 kids its just not as easy to stay up to date with every rookie coming in as it used to be for me. I have 6 picks today all 6th and 7th round guys is there really guys available that you spot without a little research that you want? gonna be rough day and I just got off 12 hour shift will go back tonight. Absolutely no reason to not make the draft longer. Give everyone time to make much smarter informed decisions about their rosters.

I completely understand where you are coming from. At the end of the day you are going to have a hundred different opinions/ preferences for a hundred people. It is a voting issue and as a result it will never perfectly suit all.

I wondered why we did two rounds a day, with Round 2, an important round, being during a Monday day time. In a perfect world, I would prefer a day off between Round 1 and Round 2, so that people could digest Round 1. If you are picking near the end of Round 1, and you work, you are severely limited on what you can do with Round 2. After that, I would do a round a day until it was finished.

I feel I have a unique perspective on this as I am retired and have had no problem with the draft in previous years. This year I was flown to New Jersey for a trial (ugh) interviewed by the Prosecutor on Sunday night (during my pick). I was picked up for the trial at 7:45 and missed my 2nd pick also.

The draft tools are awesome. I just wonder why we rush through something and now we have no league activities for months.

Two thoughts:

1. I'd prefer to see larger time windows because when my team is on the clock I like to research the top 2-3 players in my queue to make a final decision. If I only have 12 minutes, that can make it a little difficult (though admittedly a little more realistic).

2. I don't know about anyone else, but this draft has exhausted me. If there is only 1 round a day, I know that most of the time I can make a pick and be done for the day. But with 2 rounds per day, I have to find time multiple times per day to update my queue. Not to mention the time I spend trying to move around during the draft.
