Sim Bugs
Re: Sim Bugs
Ok.. that makes sense. I understand the holdout deal, but I guess its just the rating that gets me. If its like anybody else, the more he doesnt actually play, the more his rating drops. Oh well, I guess its not really a big deal!

Re: Sim Bugs
The same is the case for a player who is still looking for work, but not playing, not retired, and not suspended.
There are a few of those guys around as well, who technically can play, have a grade, but currently aren't on teams.
Likewise, there are also players on rosters here in the sim world that aren't on rosters anywhere in the NFL.
So it works both ways.

Re: Sim Bugs
I think he has to have a rating... and I'd say it should be left alone. (no hits to rating)
He's signed here in the sim world, and would be playing in real life too. B rating seems fair for a guy that many said was the most athletic player in the draft.

Re: Sim Bugs
Here's what I'd consider an issue right here. I'm down by two TDs with less than 3 minutes to play, yet I'm kicking a FG instead of going for it.
Yamon Figurs returns the ball 3 yards.
4:22 | 1 and 10 @ 50 (50)... Steven Jackson runs for 11 yards (12-68yds | 5.7 ave:5.7).
3:33 | 1 and 10 @ 39 (61)... Incomplete pass.
3:25 | 2 and 10 @ 39 (61)... Byron Leftwich (13-for-27 148 yds | 48%:47) passes complete to Anquan Boldin for 7 yards.
2:49 | 3 and 3 @ 32 (68)... Incomplete pass.
2:43 | 4 and 3 @ 32 (68)...
Here's a 49 fieldgoal attempt... GOOD! 13 to 24

Re: Sim Bugs
Just a quick question cause alot of games i have looked over something just seems off....doesn't usually when a team have better offensive line byt .05 or more than the defensive line aren't the RB's averages supposed to go up for YPC?
I went through 7-8 games just so far and every one it seems like the team that has the better grade in the trenches the RB's are still getting the same YPC or in some cases even less?

Re: Sim Bugs
I think you're misreading the stat crunching at the bottom. Looking at the game between ARI and IND in AFFL, it shows that IND runners should have a 0.5 adjustment and ARI runners should have a -0.3 adjustment.Onyxgem wrote:Just a quick question cause alot of games i have looked over something just seems off....doesn't usually when a team have better offensive line byt .05 or more than the defensive line aren't the RB's averages supposed to go up for YPC?

That's what was seen in the game. IND's Addai had 13 carries for 63 yards in real life, for a 4.8 average. In the sim, he had 12 for 64, a 5.3 average. ARI's Grant had 26 for 99 (3.8) in real life and 23 for 81 (3.5) in the sim.
The key thing to remember is that in the number crunching where it lists the player's real game stats, it shows the adjusted average that the sim is aiming towards, not the average from real life.

Re: Sim Bugs
I'm trying to figure this one out here.
First my team was down a TD at the 22 with 3:24 on the clock and decided to kick a FG.
Well, that really only works if I had all 3 time outs, which I do, but...........
2:32 | 1 and 10 @ 18 (82)... Joseph Addai runs for 5 yards (15-65yds | 4.3 ave:4.3). TIMEOUT Arizona (2 left)
2:23 | 2 and 5 @ 23 (77)... Peyton Manning (21-for-30 300 yds | 70%:70) passes complete to Manuel Johnson for 10 yards.
1:51 | 1 and 10 @ 33 (67)... Mike Hart runs for 8 yards (5-13yds | 2.6 ave:2.5). TIMEOUT Arizona (1 left)
1:41 | 2 and 2 @ 41 (59)... Mike Hart runs for 2 yards (6-15yds | 2.5 ave:2). TIMEOUT Arizona (0 left)
0:49 | 1 and 10 @ 46 (54)... Mike Hart runs for 2 yards (7-17yds | 2.4 ave:2).
0:05 | 2 and 8 @ 48 (52)... Joseph Addai runs for 3 yards (17-71yds | 4.2 ave:3).
0:00 | 3 and 5 @ 49 (49)...
Look at the play at 2:23, and then at 1:51. Why am I calling a timeout at 1:51? Where is the two minute warning?
I should've had all 3 timeouts and a 2 minute warning.
I've never noticed that before.
Is there not a two minute warning b/c there should be.
I know we're still working on things here, but the logic at the end of games definitely still needs some work.
I would've been much happier going for it on 4th down at the 22 yard line than kicking a FG in that situation anyways.

I must be reading it wrong, i just saw where it says the RB update was 5.3 ave adn the sim game also was 5.3 so i must just be missing something somewhere.

Re: Sim Bugs
Talking about Addai, and the 5.3 noted here?I must be reading it wrong, i just saw where it says the RB update was 5.3 ave adn the sim game also was 5.3 so i must just be missing something somewhere.
Indianapolis RB1: 13-63 (5.3 adj) | SIM: 12-64 (5.3 ave)
Yeah, that's already adjusted for the .5 bump.
Indianapolis Offensive Line Grade (7) vs. Arizona Front Seven (6.5) = 0.5 in the trenches
In real life he was 13-63 for 4.8 average. + .5 and that goes to 5.3 as noted.
RB's won't always hit those adjusted averages all the time, but it tries to do that on a run-by-run basis and where a RB is against his adjusted average is quoted after every carry. Typically if they get a little over the next run compensates to bring it back closer to the average, etc. So depending upon whatever the last run was, a RB may not hit that adjusted average exactly in some cases because it ran out of time to do a corrective play to get it back there, but usually RBs are within 1 run of being at their adjusted average target.
In this case exactly on it.
Here's an example where it quotes where a RB is against his adjusted target yards/carry on each play. If he gets a short 2 yarder and his in-game average (5) dips below his target (5.3) it bouces back giving him an 8 yarder on his next attempt to get things back in line.
5:01 | 1 and 10 @ 46 (54)... Joseph Addai runs for 6 yards (9-48yds | 5.3 ave:5.3).
2:44 | 3 and 2 @ 27 (27)... Joseph Addai runs for 2 yards (10-50yds | 5 ave:5.3).
7:48 | 3 and 1 @ 45 (55)... Joseph Addai runs for 8 yards (11-58yds | 5.3 ave:5.3).
5:08 | 3 and 1 @ 25 (25)... Joseph Addai runs for 6 yards (12-64yds | 5.3 ave:5.3).
